BEAT Fitness Co
Full brand identity and digital platform for a premium fitness business launching into a crowded market

Context
A gym with a clear philosophy — and a brand that didn't reflect it yet.
BEAT Fitness Co is a personal training and strength coaching facility at The Hatchery in Oxfordshire. From the outset, the founders were clear: this wasn't a mass-market gym. It was a focused, coach-led environment for people who take training seriously. The brand needed to say the same thing.
We worked with the BEAT team from the very beginning — before the gym opened, before a single member had signed up — to build the brand and digital presence that would define how the business showed up from day one.
The challenge
The fitness industry defaults to the same visual language. BEAT needed to break from it.
Walk into any commercial gym and you'll see the same thing: aggressive typography, neon accents, transformation photography, and messaging that shouts rather than speaks. BEAT's positioning was the opposite of all that — considered, quality-led, community-focused. The brand needed to express that distinction, not blend into the category it was deliberately stepping away from.
- Feel premium, credible and distinct from high-volume commercial gyms
- Remain approachable and community-focused — coaching, not corporate
- Support multiple services: personal training, small group sessions and recovery
- Work consistently across physical space, digital and marketing materials
Approach
We started with what BEAT believed, not what it looked like.
Before any visual work, the project started by defining what BEAT actually stood for — and as importantly, what it didn't. The brand strategy established the positioning, the language, and the principles that every subsequent creative decision would be tested against. Only once that was settled did design begin.
- Brand identity and visual language development rooted in the gym's philosophy
- Website and digital touchpoint design — structured around the coaching offer
- Communication framework for services, philosophy and community
- Ensuring consistency across physical space, digital presence and marketing
Solution
Identity, website, and launch materials — ready before the doors opened.
We delivered the complete brand foundation in time for launch day — giving BEAT a visual identity, digital platform and brand framework that worked from the moment the business went public.
- Brand identity development — logo, visual language, colour and typographic system
- Website design and digital structure — communicating philosophy, services and environment
- Visual assets and brand direction for launch materials
- Messaging and positioning support — defining tone of voice and communication principles
- Design support for marketing and launch across digital channels
“BEAT launched looking exactly like what it is. That's harder to achieve than it sounds.”
Outcome
BEAT launched with a brand that immediately communicated its positioning — premium, community-focused, coach-led — without saying any of those words directly. The visual identity, tone of voice and digital platform all told the same story, consistently.
The brand continues to support the gym as it grows — a consistent framework for every communication, campaign and marketing asset the BEAT team produces. Built to work long after the project ended.
